Departure Times

This tour leaves once a day.

Mount Cook Heli Ski               8.00 AM

Departures: 8:00 am

Leaving from Queenstown in one of True South Flights’s modern, comfortable aircraft with a guaranteed window seat for all passengers, you will travel along the spectacular Southern Alps to Glentanner airport where we will introduce you to our guiding partners, Alpine Guides.

After a safety briefing, you will board your helicopter that will take you to some of NZ’s highest helicopter landing areas. This is done in small groups of up to four guests per guide, to ensure a safe and personalised experience to suit all levels of heli-ski ability.

The longest runs are four kilometres in length averaging 800 vertical metres and up to 1,300 vertical metres on a variety of terrain, runs and snow quality. You will get five incredible heli-ski runs. You will be provided with all required safety equipment as well as lunch on the snow.

We have terrain to suit all levels of heli-boarders and heli-skiers; from cruisy powder bowls and open faces to steep gnarly chutes. We also boast more advanced-level terrain, and glaciated runs than the Queenstown or Wanaka region.

After completing your last run, you will descend back to Glentanner airport on a scenic helicopter flight to meet your True South pilot. While you settle in, your pilot will load your equipment for a 50-minute flight back to Queenstown, in time to catch the Queenstown après ski scene.

This package includes:

  • Return scenic flight with commentary from Queenstown to Glentanner
  • Lunch on the snow
  • 5 ski runs over up to 6 mountains in Mount Cook National Park

Complimentary pickup from central Queenstown accommodation

Mt. Aspiring and Glaciers

Extend the flight to take in an overflight of Mount Aspiring, the Snowball glaciers and the Olivine ice plateau for an additional $149 per person.

  • Adult: $149
  • Child: $149
